Microsoft previously announced in December 2017, on the Outlook blog, they will be retiring the Clutter feature from Outlook beginning January 31, 2020. To help users manage their mail and be productive, they are suggesting with the Focused Inbox experience which provides a similar benefit as Clutter by showing less important and urgent mail in Other.
How does this impact me?
Clutter will be available to Office 365 customers until January 31, 2020. To prepare for Clutter’s eventual retirement, the feature is turned off by default for new users. It’s also deactivated for those with extremely low usage (less than 12 emails per month being moved to the Clutter folder), however they can re-enable Clutter at any time, if desired.
What should I do to prepare for this change?
If your organization is using Clutter today, the process for transitioning to Focused Inbox depends on what version of Outlook you are using.
